What is Kairos? Kairos is a Bitcoin-denominated prediction market platform with a social-first design, allowing users to create, participate in, and resolve markets around real-world events.
Why is everything denominated in Bitcoin? Kairos is built on the Internet Computer’s Chain Fusion, which enables fast and native interaction with Bitcoin (ckBTC). We believe Bitcoin is the most secure base money for financial markets.
What is ckBTC? Is it the same as Bitcoin? ckBTC is a wrapped version of native Bitcoin secured by Internet Computer smart contracts. It’s 1:1 redeemable and lets you use Bitcoin in decentralized apps instantly and cheaply.
🛠️ MYOM – Make Your Own Market
What is MYOM? MYOM (Make Your Own Market) lets users launch their own prediction markets. You control the market question, options, resolution date, and initial funding.
Do I need technical knowledge to create a market? No! We provide an easy interface to set up your market. Just write a clear, resolvable question, set an expiry time, and fund it with ckBTC.
Who resolves my market? You, the creator, propose the outcome at expiry. Users have a window to dispute it (if needed), after which payouts are made.
⚡ Blitz Mode
What is Blitz? Blitz is a fast-paced prediction mode where markets resolve every 2 (only bitcoin) 5 or 10 minutes. Perfect for degens who want instant outcomes and quick PnL.
What kind of markets are on Blitz? Blitz markets focus on short-term, high-frequency predictions — like crypto price direction, sports plays, or meme outcomes.
Can I create a Blitz market? Currently, Blitz markets are curated by the Kairos team.
🥷 Challenge Mode
What is Challenge Mode? Challenge Mode allows you to bet directly against others in 1v1 (Solo Showdown) or 10v10/1v10 (Cabal Clash) formats. For cabal clash, the maximum users on challenge and opponent side is 10. Think PvP for prediction markets.
How are winners determined in Challenge Mode? Winners are ranked by profit & loss (PnL) over a defined period. Top performers win the prize pool based on the profit split rules.
What can I stake in Challenge Mode? You can stake ckBTC. Collateral is locked during the challenge and returned with any winnings after it ends.
🛡️ Cabals
What are Cabals? Cabals are leader-driven social groups with their own branding, markets, and missions. Think of them as Web3 prediction market tribes.
What are the benefits of joining a Cabal?
Members get access to exclusive markets and potential rewards. Some Cabals may also offer bragging rights, rank-based roles, or access to off-platform communities (e.g., Telegram, Discord).
How do I join a Cabal? Cabals may require specific credentials — like having a verified X account or meeting a minimum rank. Each Cabal sets its own rules. Verification is also done with the help of Matrica Connect.
Can I be in more than one Cabal? No — each user can only be in one Cabal at a time. You can leave and join a new one, but you’ll lose access to your old Cabal’s perks.
How can I create a Cabal?
At launch, cabals can only be created by submitting a request to the Kairos team. If you're looking to form a tight-knit group or build a thematic cabal early, reach out to us directly.
Shortly after launch, we’ll roll out a feature that allows users to create their own cabals directly from their account.
📜 Market Resolution (Basic Flow)
How are prediction markets resolved? When a market expires, the creator proposes an outcome. There is a 24–48 hour dispute window. If no disputes occur, payouts are executed.
What happens if I dispute a market resolution? The creator is notified and can respond. The Kairos team currently mediates and finalizes the outcome.
What if a market is ambiguous or becomes invalid? If a market cannot be resolved clearly, it may be refunded at the platform’s discretion.
Can anyone dispute a market?
Only users who participated in the market (placed a bet) are allowed to dispute its resolution. This ensures only directly affected users are involved in the process.
What happens if a market creator is inactive or doesn't respond?
If the market creator doesn’t propose a resolution within the set timeframe, the Kairos team will step in to resolve based on available data.
Are creators punished for repeated bad resolutions?
Yes. Creators with a history of biased or bad-faith resolutions may be banned from creating markets in the future or penalized through reputation/rank systems.
👤 Accounts & Referrals
How do I make an account? You can make an account by connecting your preferred wallet. Kairos automatically creates a non-custodial account for you. Supported wallets include both Bitcoin and ICP wallets.
What does the 1% referral entitle me to? Kairos has a referral program where referrers earn 1% of all buy transactions made by their referred users — in perpetuity.
The referee (new user) has a $20 cap on how much they can generate in 1% fees.
⚔️ Challenges, Friends & Co-Creators
Who can I challenge? You can challenge any user on the platform by adding their username when setting up a challenge.
Who can I add as a co-creator for my market? Only users you’ve added as friends on the platform can be selected as co-creators for a MYOM market.
💼 Managing Bets
Can I check where my current bets are? Yes! Go to your Account page, then open the Manage Bets section. You'll find all active, pending, and resolved markets you're participating in.
